In 2017, Jonathan Ullmer accepted an invitation from Haileybury to serve as the head of their school in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan’s capital city, and he has been there since. He eventually guided the institution through a highly successful inspection that resulted in ‘excellent international practise’ ratings in 17 of the school’s 19 areas, earning him the title of inspector-in-chief Accreditation by NEASC and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was also a major part of Jonathan’s work at the school (CIS). Both of these accreditations are critical to the school’s ability to provide globally recognised and certified American graduation. Jonathan also oversaw the school’s highly successful accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council on International Schools (CIS), which prepared the school to be able to offer American graduation, as well as the school’s first highly successful International Baccalaureate results. While he was in charge, the school was nominated for a Times-Independent Schools Award and received two honours, one for its student leadership programmes and the other for its Kazakh language instruction. During his tenure as principal, he oversaw the achievement of the school’s first highly successful International Baccalaureate results, which were gained under his supervision. Additionally, under his administration, the Nur-Sultan branch of Haileybury was nominated for a Times Independent School award and got two distinctions for its student leadership activities and the teaching of the Kazakh language.
